Dear Parent / Guardian,
We are saddened that your child has to be out of school due to an illness. We have a plan in place to help your child keep their minds sharp during their absences, we have developed engaging lessons that will be taught by a teacher or highly qualified paraprofessional. According to educational researchers, students experience a loss of computational understanding and setbacks in reading over short breaks such as one week. We are determined NOT to allow that to happen to our Pirates.
The plan we have put into place will need a device, internet, and dedicated time each day (Monday – Friday). Your child will:
1. Log in to their supplied device. Connect to your hotspot or your home internet.
2. Log on to the La Vega Intermediate School Zoom link:
Topic: Intermediate Remote Conferencing
This link can be found on our campus webpage https://lvi.lavegaisd.org/
3. Click on the Parents tab; Navigate to the Remote Learning page.
4. Make sure you are logging on by 8:30 AM
5. Follow the teacher’s instructions.
(Students in grades K-5 will be online for 2 hours; students in grades 6-12 will be online for 4 hours).
8:00 – 8:30 – Breakfast
